Pointer Updates- June 21, 2022

Greetings Pointer Students and Families,

As we end the 2021-22 school year and begin summer vacation, I want to express to all of you my deepest appreciation for your support and a most earnest commendation to our students for a job well done.

From the moment I came to Sparrows Point High School in 2015, I soon realized that the real strength of our school was its exceptionally strong community, wonderful and capable students and talented staff. This year, despite the many challenges, has proven each of those things true, yet again.

I’m pleased to end the year with some well-earned recognitions and congratulations!

Congratulations to Karl A. and Max B., who are the first two students to earn certification in the Construction, Design & Management program. These students certified in Revit, which is an architectural design program. Congratulations, Karl and Max! This program is run by Mr. Rob Maser, who does a terrific job with all four levels of the Construction, Design & Management program. Interested in learning more about enrolling in CDM? Contact Mr. Maser by email at [email protected]

Congratulations to Kevin R., who was the SPHS student representative attending the HOBY Youth leadership Seminar at Towson University! This was a wonderful opportunity for Kevin to hone his leadership skills and bring them back to SPHS!

Ms. Lord, Visual Arts Department Chair, was recently named as the Maryland Outstanding National Art Honor Society Sponsor by the Maryland Art education Association. Congratulations, Ms. Lord!

Best wishes for a pleasant and safe summer. I look forward to seeing you again on the first day of school!

Kind regards,

Emily J. Caster
