Registration Timeline for 2018-2019 Classes

The goal of the registration process is to help all SPHS students indicate course preferences for the upcoming school year to create a schedule that  meets graduation and completer requirements and ensures college/career readiness appropriate to individual post-secondary plans.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend Registration Info Night in the SPHS cafeteria in November. The Community College of Baltimore County will present about the Early College Access Program (ECAP). A second Registration Info Night will be held on at Battle Grove Elementary School.

Folders with registration resources and required paperwork are distributed to each student. Students will attend a grade-level Registration Assembly with an overview of registration guidelines and elective course information.

Counselors meet with every ninth through eleventh grader individually on  to discuss course selections, graduation requirements, and post-secondary plans.  Students are scheduled through social studies classes. Course Selection Worksheets and other required paperwork must be completed in pencil, signed by a parent and turned in at this meeting.

Extended Day Learning Program

Students access high school courses scheduled after the school day at an Extended Day Center. Courses are self-paced and blended to include independent online work, peer-to-peer work and teacher directed instruction. EDLP is ideal for students who want to recover high school credits for courses already taken or seek to gain extra credits needed towards graduation.
